¿Que es un blog?

Un blog es tu propia ventana a la red. Un sitio desde el cual, de la manera más sencilla posible, podrás publicar todo lo que quieras y hacerlo accesible al resto del mundo. Es la expresión de tu voz en Internet.

Los blogs, también conocidos como bitácoras, son las páginas web personales que han puesto la posibilidad de publicar al alcance de cualquier persona que tenga acceso a una conexión a Internet. Han conseguido que el proceso de publicación, hasta el momento reservado únicamente a personas con elevados conocimientos de informática, sea accesible a cualquier persona: se trata de un formato orientado al usuario y al contenido.

Generalmente los blogs se organizan en torno a entradas: artículos que pueden combinar texto e imágenes identificados por un título. El autor puede escribir tantas como desee, en el momento que quiera, utilizando para ello un intuitivo interfaz. En momento en que da la entrada por finalizada, ésta queda automáticamente publicada junto con las entradas anteriores, normalmente en orden cronológico inverso.

Estas entradas, además, tienen una dirección web permanente, lo que ayuda a que se las enlace desde otros sitios y por lo tanto a la difusión de los contenidos. De la misma forma, las entradas pueden clasificarse cronológicamente o temáticamente para facilitar su localización. Por otro lado, los blogs suelen incluir también buscadores internos para ayudarnos a encontrar cualquier tipo de contenido.

Un rasgo significativo de las bitácoras es la posibilidad de aceptar comentarios de los lectores, asociados a las distintas entradas. De esta forma, se amplian los puntos de vista y se enriquece el contenido. Otra característica común es la abundancia de enlaces a fuentes de información o a otras opiniones en las entradas. Estos enlaces, que relacionan distintos sitios en la red, junto con los comentarios, convierten a los blogs y a los que escriben en ellos en actores importantes de lo que se ha venido a llamar la conversación en la red.
